And that is a profound statement!
Stress is the result when you try to control any or all things that are outside your control.
You can certainly not change other people unless you change how you think and act, so that they choose to change to fit the changing relationship.
So many of us have had things happen to us during our lifetime that have hurt and even damaged us… but we can change the way that we think and feel about this history.
We can change our core beliefs about ourselves so that we approach the world differently. I have seen people completely transform when they do this. It can happen over a few weeks or sometimes almost instantaneously. I have seen people with a long-term angry red rash all over, literally change colour during a hypnosis session as their skin cells relax and calm down. I think I was as surprised as my client the first time that happened because it was so fast.
Our unconscious mind is very powerful and it can do amazing things if we let our conscious mind just ‘shut up’ so that the unconscious mind can take over.
I am busy talking to my badly broken arm at the moment suggesting that it turns the pain down so that the rest of my body can focus on healing. I have decided to ask a hypnotherapist friend to give me a hand here because it is hard to do the big stuff without help.
