Many times when I go out I see examples of people making their lives unhappy and unhealthy by letting themselves become angry … and worse still holding on to that anger.
Anger is such a terribly destructive emotion and the problem is that the person you hurt most with anger is yourself. Regular and prolonged anger are both very harmful to your health because you release so much adrenalin preparing you for a “fight” that you upset your entire hormonal balance.
Many angry people develop serious illnesses including cancer and often put on a lot of extra weight as they insulate themselves against the world.
There is a small gap between your mind receiving the stimulus that starts that anger and you reacting. As you become more aware of that gap… you can make the gap bigger and even find a different reaction.
Anger is YOUR anger and it is your CHOICE. You can learn to make a different choice.
I do help people to do that with hypnosis, take a mental step back when that surge of anger starts, create a pause and make a different choice.
