Feeling locked in and out of your own control is something that is often at the bottom of stress for so many people. The thing is that worrying about the situation only makes it feel worse.
Worry never helps anything. Worry does not change the past. Nor does it prevent anything in the future. All worry does is make you feel bad right now.
If you feel locked into a situation that you don’t want, or perhaps you are thinking things that you don’t want… then the only sensible thing to do is to … Accept what is
Just allow yourself to accept this is not what you want right now…
And decide that this will change and get better – but right now negative thought are not helping you.
Watch your thoughts…
Don’t dwell on something bad
Is that thought or memory helping you now?
On a minor level I always do this at the dentist… I accept my dental treatment is happening and decide that I can hear the noise of the drill and feel “pressure”…
Then I simply do not feel much discomfort and if I start to feel uncomfortable I ask myself whether this feeling is helping or harming me and let it go – reminding myself that I accept this now.
